This addition is the first phase of a three-year project to update and expand a vacation home in Rome. A two-story addition was added to one side of the original structure. We love working for this client. Not only do they have the warmth and kindness to treat us like family, their properties also give us the chance to do some exceptionally lovely work.

Exterior Work
Preparing the ground for an addition begins with clearing out the trees, rocks, and old debris. Here you see the concrete forms for the foundation still in place. Work on the floor joists is in progress. Framing goes quickly. It’s a priority to get the project protected from the weather. Joining the addition to the unique roofline required particular care. Siding is in process. Here we’ve begun updated the siding on most of the original structure to match the new siding chosen for the addition. The wall for the next planned addition has been left undone in anticipation of Phase 2. The deck uses cable rails to provide the best possible view of the lake. The finished addition and fully resided original structure have come together as a coherent building.
Interior Work
Additions require more than the exterior structure. They need wiring, sheetrock, light fixtures, trim, paint, flooring, etc. Here’s a quick peek at some of our interior work on this project.
